Research interests and expertise

Seismic modelling with Finite-difference wavefield simulation, Eikonal solver (first-arrival traveltimes) and ray tracing, tomography, generalized diffraction tomography, imaging/inversion in seismology and seismics, hybrid modelling ray-tracing/finite-difference, refraction seismics, seismic resolution, SAR techniques applied to seismic imaging, simulated prestack imaging using resolution functions, imaging in other domains (medical, etc), geophysics for geohazards, E-learning.

Career

  • 2003 - present: Part-time researcher at the International Center for Geohazards (ICG), Center of Excellency, Norway.

  • 1993 - present: Senior Research Geophysicist, Seismic Modelling, NORSAR.

  • 1992: Postdoctoral fellowship, grant from the Royal Norwegian Council of Norway (NTNF), NORSAR, Norway.
